I'm trying to setup Open Media Vault, a Debian based Linux distro, as a place to store files on my network. I'm trying to get it so that I can save backup images of my computers on it in case something bad happens. Then, all I'd have to do is restore the image to fix the computer. I'm using RedoBackup to image the machines, as it is so easy that anyone it the house could use it.
The problem is this: I've got Open Media Vault up and running as an FTP server. RedoBackup can see the server on the network. I can even create a folder on the OMV server to save the backup file inside, from the Redobackup GUI on the target machine. But, when I tell RedoBackup to save an image of the machine to the FTP server, it just doesn't move past 0% progress. My friend brought over an FTP server and it worked with his box, everything else being the same, so it should be possible. Are there any FTP settings that I might need to tweak in order to get it so that this will work? I'm stumped.
thanks,
case
