Hello, I'm looking for some good open source backup solutions for a small business that can handle grandfather-father-son types of backups, preferably with delta/differential backups to minimize the time on the wire. Storage will be on harddisks off-site. I see I have two real options, Amanda and Bacula. Does anyone have experience with either of these programs in a mixed-OS client environment? The server would more than likely be Linux.
I kind of imagine that this will require me to keep a backup server on the LAN, and mirror that backup server to the offsite location using nightly rsyncs or something like that. Alternatively, perhaps I could log the offsite machine onto the VPN.
Suggestions, thoughts?
