I just bought a pair ot Senn PC-350s. I did a quick search, but didnt find anything really relating to my question...

And I realize this isnt an audio-geek forum....

These sound great, (even shitty Realtek audio throws enough wattage/voltage/whatever to make them loud), but the bass is lacking, and from what I've read they can shine much better with an op-amp.

Am I best just buying a CMOY based one off ebay for $35 shipped or is there more to this?
I'm completely ignorant to how these things work, any help would be appreciated.

which motherboard do you have? is the old Realtek or the HD Realtek?

If you have the HD, a cmoy amp will do you nice if you are just looking for a general sound awakening & improvement. It will give you more bass, punch, and volume. Some of them have the option to change out the opamp thus changing the sound signature, there are very many different kinds you can buy.

That's a good start. If you find you desire even more sound quality then you next step is looking at a new DAC or DAC/amp combos.

It's the more recent Realtek HD. (I'd be running something different if this was not a laptop)

DAC/AMP? I saw some of these online, to the tune of $300+

I'd love to improve the bass and overall volume of these but I'm not looking to spend a million dollars.

Well had a response typed out, and I guess it didnt like me...

Anyway it's a newer HD realtek, would have upgraded but my primary system is a laptop until much later this year.

CMOY amps seem reasonably priced, is there certain things I should be looking for in features other than the obvious? (Volume control, etc)

<edit> goddamn quick response form bug.
