Oops...I accidentally formated over a partition of backup data on my hdd with the windows installer. I didn't completly install windows over the partion that I formatted though. Is there any way to recover that data, short of sending the hard drive to a professional data restoration lab?
 
There are programs available for download that do exactly that. I had to use one a couple months ago to recover a wrongly formatted drive. Only problem is that most of them either wont let you recover the data or let you recover only a small portion of the data until you purchase the full product.
