Ooooooh, the Laing DDC12V Mod =D

For those of you who know what this pump is and are familiar with it, you should know what this mod is.

At first, I thought I had a pretty good flowing pump, I thought I was getting really good flow out of it. Turns out I was completely wrong.

I just finished this mod for one of my pumps (I have 2 of these pumps), and all I can say is wow. The flow must have been doubled at least. The water moves so fast now its incredible.

I'll post a picture of it later, but I just wanted to let you guys know that the modification DOES help the system a lot.
 
It's more than likely this mod that RoboTech did to the pump over at System Cooling a while back in Jan of this year.................

Yes, Biohazard has the right mod.

I just finished mine. They shit you not. The difference is HUGE.

I cannot wait for my tubing to come in (Tygon), so I can hook up my system because I haven't been able to play with my computer for about a month now due to lacking of tubing and such.

Also, I found a new way to place my pump, yay.
 
Lee made the bracket himself. RoboTech (Lee) is in the same class of water cooling experts as Cather and BillA............ :D . He just doesn't post all that much on the different forums. But he's got several great articles out on several sites.
 
No, Top Nurse, thats not it. Thats just a bigger top for the DDC... Its still got the same 90* bend in it...

Jonsey, no I don't even have tubing to finish my system. The only tubing I have left I use for testing because I don't have enough for make a system.

Did you log your mod I would love to see some pics or a tutorial for the "Laing" I would hate to mess up my shiney $70 pump.

Take another close look. It has the standard I&O ports like the stock Laing and that round metal thing that looks ornamental is actually a 1/4 BSPP plug. :D

Oh I didn't bring it up as a news story. I just brought it up because some people wouldn't mind paying $30 and have a stock pump to boot in case of any warranty issues. However, if you want one of these right now the shipping will kill you coming from Germany. But perhaps soon you may be able to buy these off the shelf here in the USA. :)
 
So is this mod compatible with the Swiftech MCRES-1000 Reservoir?
or would it defeat the purpose of the mod?
