ooooh!

Holy smokes! That looks like a winner for sure. There are also some other new ones on there. The Powershot S1 IS looks pretty nice too. I might have to take back the S50 I just got and get one of those. Good thing Costco is great about returns.

im wondering why they didnt put IS in this one

The type of lens that it has, IS designation means it has image stabilization built in. Like the Powershot S1 has.

any idea the release date

hmm, wonder hwo much I can get for a month old a80 :-p

Did you see that macro lighting accessory? A ring of lights around the lense for perfect close-up lighting. Sweeeet!

Still doesn't look like there is the possibility of a direct "tether" to either an external storage device or a PC. I'm still waiting for that capability with something other than the 10D-class cameras...

At least the thing is black and not that cheap-looking silver painted finish I have on my A70!

You can buy ringlights for the older Powershots too.

Looks like the release date is April. Ya its going to retail for about $999.00 USD. So thats a pretty good deal for L glass.

Cheers,

You can get that on the G series from Canon.
