I'm sorry for being rude the first time around. I didn't mean for it to come out like that. Thanks for not banning me for that.

Now, is there any way the time between searches could be reduced for subscribers or something? Or maybe have the limit be like 3 searches a minute or 5 searches every two minutes. That would allow for someone to do another search in the case of a typo but it would not allow someone to do continuous searches. I don't know if that is possible with the software, though. This is just a suggestion that I think would benefit the members of the forum. I love these forums and as it is it isn't enough to make me leave, so I am fine with it.

it's to limit the idiots from searching for "the" or "it" every 5 seconds.

Kyle was responding with the same type of attitude the poster had. Why should he act all jolly and friendly when someone talks about his forums in this way?

Common strings and ones that are not long enough (I think 4 letters is the least) are not included in the search.

Then search for graphics, accelerator, doom, etc. All will return millions of results.

Are you serious? Those are not considered common words. Kinda like google's search engine, it filters words like "how", "it", "the", ect (since those words are included in like every post, and probably won't help you). And I believe 100 results is the cap for a search.

Common words WHERE? Google, no. Here? You'd better believe it. And while it capps results at 100, many of the search engines (I'm not familiar with VBull enough) just filter AFTER searching all the results.

Sigh... I'm not going to argue with you. This has been discussed time and time again here and on GenMay. Read those. Search for stupid words breaks the DB time and time again, or slows the thing down to a crawl.

If you are not satisfied with our current search engine, you always have the option of not useing it. Thanks for your comments, they are all considered.
