hey hey!

i got a A7N8X-E Deluxe, XP 3200+, 2x 512MB PC3200 200Mhz and a Club3D Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB 8x AGP that's over 1 year and 3 months old.

and i was wondering if its enough just to buy a new graphics card and it would last a bit longer. and about how long? :D
was thinking of a x850pro/xt/pe for $300 to $400. or is it a waste of money?

:)

no..not at all..thats a decent card(and im not an ati fan) you could run that card for a couple of years and be happy with it

The rest of the hardware is fine, but the 9800Pro is definetly lacking in power for the new games.

x850xt will work, but dont expect it to last long at this rate(my 6800GT is already getting owned by FEAR and COD2)

i wouldnt buy such a expensive video card to go with your current setup. your cpu would bottleneck your system in the newer games and when you decide to upgrade your cpu you will be stuck with a agp card. the evga 6800gs is 209 at newegg. that would be a good video card to get with a new motherboard + cpu (and a psu depending on your current one)

thanks guy. guess i'll just save up some money and buy a whole new comp instead.. sell this thingy i have

huh...strange.FEAR runs quite well for me....but even on top end cards...the fps isnt anything to write home about...the games very taxing on gpu's

Your rig is fine for at least another 8-12months....I would just save your money...
