Just got my new comp up and running (A64 3000+, Asus K8N-E Deluxe, Mushkin 222 special, BFG 6800GT OC) and I'm getting really low 3dmark01 scores and I have noooooooooo idea what the problem is. I installed the mobo drivers that came with the cd, the newest nvidia drivers from their site, and AGP Acceleration is enabled. Any ideas?

***UPDATE***
Never mind, it was the stupid Cool & Quiet Option in the BIOS. I had it enabled cause I thought it would auto adjust the fan speeds according to the temp. What a retarded function!

hmmm is your processor running at full speed? Video card?

Try running 3dmark03 and see if that is on par...

Well, according to cpu-z my proc is only running at 800mhz and it only says 512mb total memory when I have 1gig. However, when I check My Computer it says the proc is running at 2.0ghz and 1gig of ram. Maybe cpu-z is fugared? Also, what scores should I expect with 3dmark03?

Yeah, make sure you have AA/AF off and everything is set to performance.I got 10,903 for 3D Mark 03 with my X800 Pro clocked@560/560 so youshould get around that.

I just ran 03 and got 11880 so I'm guessing the card is fine since it matches cstafs results. I tried playing some TFC and my frames were dipping to the 30s and 40s so something is definately wrong. Any ideas?

Your 3dmark 03 score is fine, but that's still messed up about your TFC. Make sure you have updated drivers. If that doesn't work, try updating the BIOS.

Just reinstalled the nForce drivers and got a score of 20K on '01. Is this correct? Looks like you're supposed to install the nForce drivers after installing the video card drivers.

Negative, you will always want to install chipset drivers before your video card drivers. 20K in 01 sounds about right. 01 has become more of a system test rather than a video card benchmark utility. I barely break 17000 in 01 and 6400 in 03.

Someone do me a favor. Run 3DM03 at 1280x1024, with 2x FSAA, Trilinear filtering, set in the 3DM03 options. Set AF to 4x in the Nvidia control panel, and use the Quality setting as well.

With the rig in my sig below, I get 6800 pts +/- 50 or so....I seem to be cpu limited, what ya think. I am guessing an A64 at 2ghz or maybe 2.2 should get about 8k or so. Any takers? After all, I don't play my games at those low ugly settings....hehe. :p

From my understanding, you won't gain more than 200 points by going from a slow to fast processor in 3dmark03. The score is almost entirely determined by your vid card.

My problem is back again!!! I got everything running properly yesterday night and when I come back home today it's all fugared up again. I ran 3dmark01 and I'm getting a 10K score again. I tried re-reinstalling the nForce chipset drivers and the video card drivers as well but no luck. I opened up the case and reseated everything but nothing changed. I have noooooo idea whats wrong. At first I thought it was the sound card because the sound would stutter or skip when loading up a game or if alot of crap was going on in tfc but I changed PCI slots and the problem remains. I don't think it's the ram either because I just put it through 12 hrs of prime95 tests and it passed without a hitch. Helps me!
