Today almost everyone have a ssd. Out of curiosity, how many drives/disks do you guys have? Do U only have 1 ssd or do you have lots of ssds and still use the old harddrive? What is the future in your eyes?

me: I have two ssds, one is for the OS and the other one is for the files/data/backup.

future: more huge ssds. and no more harddrives for me.

Currently one SSD in each of my computers, so 6 total. I did have 12 a few months ago before I sold about half of them.

The one problem (with me at least) is that I tend to think SSDs as being 'fragile' and I limit how many writes I do to the drive. I know they'll last years on end. I think it started with these software monitors that allow you to see how much you've written and read from the drive. It's like the odometer to your car. Once someone else sees how much you've used it, it tends to depreciate the overall value of the drive.

yeah I also think a lot about how much I use them. the good thing about that is that after they are done, you can't write but your data in them stays written, and you can read only afaik.
thanks.

Laptop - Hybrid
Desktops - SSD
Server SSD + Physical Array

Pure SSD is currently a waste as most of my data is static and doesn't require fast access at the moment I have a 12TB array and to provision this amount of SSD would cost me a nice car!!!
I have no concerns with the life of solid state drives, had a little 60GB vertex for a couple of years, its been used in allsorts of applications, machines, lent to friends, etc and its still at 0% wear.

I cant think of a disk spinning or SSD that Ive used production wise for more than about 4 years
