I first want to preface that I obtained permission from TechHead to post this a while back. I am a grad student at Purdue University and am studying online gaming communities. This survey should only take about 5 minutes to complete and you'd be helping me out a TON.

Ideally I would like your responses to remain anonymous. It would be great if you could PM me your response or email me your response at lwmadsen@purdue.edu, but if you don't feel like it feel free to just reply to the thread. Hahahah... you guys crack me up.

First of all I first want to thank everyone who has contributed their answers to this survey. It is VERY much appreciated and it goes to show how supportive a lot of you are.

Second, yes, yes... I KNOW that it would have been better in a web based survey. :) There are a few reasons why I didn't go this route. First of all, I don't have the free time or money to hire someone to make it web-based let alone teach myself php, asp, mysql, or any other database programming. If I weren't going to graduate school, teaching classes, and doing other research outside of this project, then sure, I might have tried to make it web based.

Additionally, this is more of a pilot study then a full blown research project. I don't need thousands of responses to make the conclusions that I anticipate. I'm aiming for more around 50-100 responses. If the results are signficant from the data gathered then I'll consider opening it up to more people for a better indication of the entire population of online gamers which of course would require a better implementation than I have now.

Regardless, again, I REALLY appreciate your comments and suggestions. Though I appreciate the responses to the survey MUCH MUCH more. :)
