one touch backup drives?

Was wondering if anyone here had any experience with seagate/maxtor's (or anyone's) one touch or push button backup external hard drives. good/bad? software ok?

planning on getting a couple for the office for the less pc savvy to have a regular backup option for important data. thanks.

meh. they'd work, but there are better ways. set up a domain, then make them keep their stuff in "my documents" (which they prolly do anyway). thne it will get copied to the server every time they log off. or have a script set up to grab the contents of their disks and put them somewhere on a server. these would work, but for the cost of 4 or 5 of them, you could get a cheap linux box and a raid1 or raid5 server. then set up a cron job or samba3, as you prefer.
 
Well it all depends on how many of these things you need. if it was more than 5 i would say get a san or something to do this. What is the technical level of the people who are needing these drives? Do they really need 200GB? if they can't figure out how to make backups on the server, then i personally woulndt even trust them to push a button to make the back up on the drive. do they have to turn the thing on, do the back up and then turn it off? most users probably will never turn it off, which may shorten the life of the drive. Or is it a one step process. push the button and you're done? Lotsa questions need answered first. Seems like a waste of money to me, a server would be more economical, especially if its just "my documents"

I'd be interested to hear what you decide as i am starting to feel uncomfortable with my 2 firewired drives, 2 internal hard drives, and laptops (all at ~80% capacity of course). I have 380 gigs of shit scattered everywhere and would like to build something to put it all in one place.
