So I'm using a gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P on a new build and when I go to power up I get one short beep and then the system shuts off. I'm only posting because the mobo manual doesn't have a code for just one beep besides that it means the system has booted successfully.

I suspect it might be the graphics card, but not sure. I would like a little stronger evidence before going for an RMA.

So, what should I try?

Thanks.

Barebone Bench Test, Re-seat everything.
Try it with one stick of RAM.
Note error beeps without any RAM.
Note error beeps without vidcard.
Try another vidcard.

Just a little update:

I was occasionally getting the post code for the video card and so I decided to just RMA it and see what happens.

I did try reseating the ram to no avail.

Hopefully my new gpu will get in soon and that will turn out to have been the problem.
