I just put a computer together for my first time. I have an AMD 2500+ with the stock heatsink and fan. I don't have an OS on it yet. I don't have any other case fans yet either. I left my computer on for about 15 minutes and I checked the CPU temp. It was about 40-43 degrees Celsius. Does this sound a little high, even for having no case fans?

thank you!

That's what mine was like with the stock HSF.

Are you using Arctic Silver? If so, did you only use an amount half the size of a peice of rice on the chip?

No, im using a wax pad that came on the heatsink. Would thermal grease bring the temp down a few degrees?
