One Loop Two Pumps

I've been running the same loop for a while and am going to be doing a few small upgrades in the near future. I currently have an older heatercore as my rad, D5 pump, Storm cpu block and swiftech GPU block. I'm going to switch over to a PA120.3 as my rad and to a fuzion cpu block.

Now that all the details are out of the way my question: I have the option of using a second D5 in the loop but don't really have the room or inclination to run two loops. Would it be worthwhile to use two pumps in the same loop or should I just look to sell my extra D5? I was thinking something along the lines of pump-rad-pump-cpu-gpu...but any order would be feasible.

edit: Heaterblock? I should re-read my posts more carefully...
 
No. Two pumps barely achieves anything worthwhile. The major, major enthusiasts might enjoy it for the redundancy, and purported extra performance, but I doubt you'd notice anything.

Sell it, and upgrade your radiator or CPU block if you want to see a difference ;)

Hmm can't get much better than a 120.3 combo and Fuzion, so I don't know what you would upgrade to :p .

If its a CPU only loop you won't see much improvement and maybe even less improvement because of the added heat dump from the second pump. You also don't need a redundancy for the D5 pump (aka one of the most reliable pumps ever built!!!!).

You could stick another rad in between the CPU and the GPU. Might help temps for whichever comes second by a few degrees.

I agree. The extra flow will not matter, A single pump will work out great
 
extra pump should not yield anything since most of the bottle neck happens in the cooling blocks, and one d-5 pump can power those easily.
 
you'd practically have to be cooling everything to need two pumps. cpu, nb, sb, volt reg, 3x gpu, 3x hdd, and maybe even the psu.
