onboard sound stops working while gaming

I just put together a machine for a friend using a biostar 760g board and it works fine, even while gaming then say 15-20 minutes into gaming (Diablo 3) the audio goes silent, no errors or anything, just requires a reboot before sound works again. Here is the board here Biostar 760G and if you look under audio driver there isn't one for win7, I assume since it auto detects? I have ran all windows updates whether hardware/software and it says the audio driver is up to date. I do have onboard video disabled since I installed a 6670 DDR3 but I highly doubt that has anything to do with it. CPU is a phenom x4 955. I'm pretty stuck here, it is a fresh install of windows 7 HP x64, other than items already mentioned is the wireless network card, it's a rosewill rnx-n150ube, that wouldn't matter either right? I'm just really stuck here so throwing out everything. My friend plans on picking the PC up next weekend so I really want to get this fixed by then

I just realized what's happening is my front HD Audio jack on my case is disappearing like it's not even there until I reboot. This is weird. looks like using rear jacks should work but I'd still prefer fix the front jack from vanishing so it's easier to keep the headset cord from getting tangled

here is the case I have APEX TX-381-C if it matters, would you think it was a motherboard or case issue?

Check the internal cable used to connect to the case's front audio jacks. You're looking for a loose/frayed cable. Also, if it is even somewhat loose, all it takes is a mild bump to turn it off. Try not to get too excited when gaming/streaming porn :)
 
checked, everything looks good. it's a new case, it's all clean & everything is zip tied etc

The you've got either a bad cable, a bad output on the mobo/soundcard, or a bad input where the cable connects to the front input.
 
but it going away and working again (temporarily) after rebooting makes me wonder if it's a driver issue. Without touching/moving the cable it works. Well I tested it plugged in the back and it worked fine for hours so I guess he'll just have to use the rear jacks, isn't the end of the world I guess, gotta love PC's sometimes
