hey,I just got a new mobo and processor and I installed all the drivers for it however, when it tried to install the ethernet driver it failed. And when I go to Device Manager and try ti install the driver it keeps saying that it cant. It says:

There was a problem installing this hardware

NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller #2

An error occurred during the installation of the device
The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name.

So, does anyone know how to get this fixed?

oh and the mobo is an ASUS A8N VM

Thanks

What driver are you using, off the CD or downloaded one?

You did do the chipset drivers right?

Is this on a fresh install of Windows?

its off the CD that came with the mobo, and I'm pretty sure I did the chipset drivers, I just installed all the drivers on the CD I dont remember what they all were. An no this isn't a fresh install of XP, I was thinking about reformatting but I was too lazy yesterday, but I guess if I cant fix it I guess I should just reformat, its not like it takes long.

if the driver's from the CD or online aren't working, a fresh install will probably do the trick.

If the last mobo had an nforce chipset then the old drivers could be conflicting with the new ones.

Exactly, sounds like you have a driver conflict. Clean install should fix it up.
