On the Apex kit...

Yes, you will need at least 2 holes cut in the case for the tubing if you plan to mount it outside the case.

Just make sure your case has a 120mm exhaust fan on the back, otherwise you'll have to drill mounting holes for the RadBox that comes in the kit.
 
The rad box WILL mount on any sized rear exhaust mount.................. :D

You can actually mount it on a 80mm as the radbox is adjustable.
