On-case analogue temperature guage?

I'm not sure where to start, so I'll start with bullet points!

  • I am buying a mobo with onboard temperature detection
  • I have a Musketeer which has its own temperature gauge
  • I want to display, in analogue, the output from the onboard sensors

The motherboard has several sensors, which is nice. I want a hardware readout, but I don't want to use LCD. I'm building a wooden case and LCD would not look right with the style I'm going for.

The Musketeer is nice, but if I could use the onboard sensors (and more than one temperature display) that'd be better.

To be honest, using the onboard sensors for this isn't even vital to me. What really matters is that I want to be able to display (accurately) the temperature on an analogue gauge. A nice little dial with a needle, they turn out to be easy enough to get hold of.

So, any advice on how I can do this? Can I use a thermistor with a simple circuit, perhaps? Can I, without spending a fortune, build a device that will take input from software and control a gauge?

Hope this is the right section to ask in, too. Heh.

Thanks any and all!

Edit:

After hours of searching I found this: Show PC stats on analog gauges

So, a bit of effort involved, but I was already planning to fiddle around with circuit boards and ICs for my case mod, so what the heck? Now I just need a Linux LCD utility that can replicate the raw output of lcdsmartie!
