I am currently on the fence. I am trying to piece together a decent system for my rents on the cheap. They don’t really do much of anything outside of facebook/email/internet; therefore onboard video will do them well for awhile. I am trying to build the system as beefy as I can now so it last 2-3years or more. Obviously any onboard video will not last that long so I can always drop in an old video card from my system down the road. I know on the Intel side that the on-die video of the core i5 would be sufficient even pre SB. Not sure what AMD has to offer. Please give me some ideas.

The 4290 IGP that's in the 890GX is good for 'normal' desktop use. I used mine for a while without any complaints. It should last them quite a while.

+1 if you get an 890gx board with the 128mb sideport ram this memory is dedicated to the onboard graphics and it beefs up performance significantly.
