I have onboard audio on a Abit IC-7 and it won't let me have a 5.1 surround sound setup. All six speakers are as one and I don't really get surrround sound I want. I have some Altec Lansing Model 251 (the small cub like ones). Any suggestions or recomandations for new speakers/sound card?

Make sure whatever you're playing through the speakers is an actual surround sound file.

Meaning playing music through Winamp will map it to all speakers. Make sure you're running a DVD with surround sound.
