PC restarts after being on.. i think i need a new PSU.. any1 wanna buy me a psu.. ill trade u an amd motherboard.. a amd xp 2600+, 512mb ram.. lol im so desperate.. no money :X

sometimes wen i start u.. sometimes after a couple hours.. i get a blie screen error sometimes.. and sometimes it just shuts off.. will ur turbo thing run with my

2GB ram
200GB HDD
amd 64 3400+
good MoBo
Geforce 6600GT

I only have a loud shitty 350 watt

so it loads windows...hmmmm have you checked out the RAM?

but if it just shuts off then...hmm could be PSU too

what brand PSU? and can you run with a not-so-power-hungry-card?

I was making a joke. Turbolink - 20 dollar ps

Just tgake a stop down to bestbuy and buy an antec ps.

i have 0 money. just bought me an amd 64 3400+ and a mobo

I really dont know what to do.. my pc restarts for no reasin.. and inkow for a fact its not my ram, hdd, or video card.. cuz i upgraded all of them..

power hungry meaning one that doesn't use as much power...maybe it's a cheapo PSU that can't handle it

anyway if you think it's drivers then have you tried reinstalling? or older versions?

im not sure if older versions support such a new card >> Gefore 6600GT

Because the 66.93 says.. NOW INCLUDES SPPORT FOR GEFORCE 6600GT

and yeah my psu is very cheap and crusty.. i need new one.. but i cant get any1 to trade or anythng

oh yeah... after my pc restartded.. i cant see the wireless internet icon.. and when i go to ontrol panle>network connections .. my wireless isnt there either.. but im not sure where it went.. cu i am connected to my internet!!

Should i reformat.. because i havent format before i installed my video card..

Maybe a driver gt messed u.. idk

is this a new pc and a new installation?

edit: ok maybe not a new installation...did you clean off the drivers of your old card before installing these drivers?

hmm...interesting....what blue screen errors do you get? might as well try to solve some of the problem

it says something of a driver.. and jsut restarts.. i never got the blue sscreen error since the Geforce 6600GT so i know htta caused it. its a graphics driver..

wait...so....no more bsod..but the comp still restarts? o_O

is auto restart disabled?

ihave auto restart enable.. just because i have to restart any ways.. but sometimes i get both.. one it just restarts.. maybe because of power.. and the other time is wen i get the BSOD and thats when the driver issue comes in hand.. weird

auto restart only flashes you the bsod....whereas disabling it will show it on the screen allowing you to write down all the information...such as error codes or which file is causing the problem..etc..etc

Disable auto restart. Uninstall all your graphics drivers and reinstall them. Make sure it is not a heat issue and that all cooling devices are working and installed properly. Then run memtest86+ for at least two hours, assuming your computer stays on that long. If it passes that, and obviously stays on, then maybe it is your PS.

Exactly, and then you can search google or MS Knowledge Base for an answer.

Someone buy this guy a grammar and spell checker as well.

On a side note, if your going to build a PC yourself (instead of a prebuilt -- read -- warranty) and a part goes bad, meaning you have to buy a replacement, you won't find much sympathy here if your out of cash. Might want to look into a managing finances book as well. Hit the FS/FT forum and try and get a good PSU there.

djnes or w.e. i am sorry im not a lsoer that spell checks in a damn forum.. if oyu do that.. ::pAT ON BACK:: i feel very VERY bad for you ..

Atleast read your post over before hitting submit. The "Preview" button is there for a reason.

Swirly if you want people to take time to help you, take time to write out a legible question.
If you dont even take the time to make you post not look like dog shit who wants to take the time to help you.

Perfect grammer and sentance structure isn't required, but at the same time, you might want to make it a little clearer. That way no one has to take the time to decode your post. It makes getting help a little easier.

What motherboard are you using? What all is hooked up to your PSU?

Right now im using a k7s41gx, 200 GB HDD 7200RPM, 2GB ram , amd xp 2600+ (1.93GHZ), and a Geforce 6600GT.

I am getting an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Processor and Abit AV8 VIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard .

My friend said.. i will have severe problems if i add those in with my 350 watt psu lol.

What do you think?

Nice try at being funny, but as others have sad after me, if you can't formulate your thoughts clearly, how are we supposed to answer your questions?

I don't spell check the forums, but I do "read" the forums. I feel bad for someone who expresses their thoughts as you do.

I believe that was supposed to say said.. not sad? please preview your post.. i hate looking at people who cant spell..

wow so much of this stuff about spelling

personally i dont really care about spelling as long as the idea is expressed although i prefer to spell correctly

referring back to the original post... if you want, i have a brand new Raidmax 420w power supply that i dont use but its OEM, since you have no money, i guess ill be ok with a trade, tell me what you can offer for it

but if your seriously bored, you can get two low power psu's and wire them together splicing every single wire and corresponding it with the similar wire of the other psu so it adds more power... however, i do not recommend this unless you have electrical experience because you may end up with more than a dead computer

let me know =)

I don't recommend it, either. You can't gang all of the signals -- the power good line, for example.

Why don't you get your friends to help you and just borrow their psu? Just to see if it is ps problem, or just reformat. Oh, and yes, your grammer makes me want to /part this thread, again, if you want help just make it a little clearer and make more sense.

you can actually, i think ive seen people do them successfully but then theres also the risks of something exploding, so i take back what i said =)

btw, if you do want that psu i offered, you can PM me or hit me up on aim at bladderoverclock

a further point, consider that the lack of a concice question and the unnecessary posts that inevitably engenders means fewer people will bother to wade through this thread in an effort to glean the pertinent information to answer the question

do this and post a link
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=844691

1st lets determine what your current config requires for power and what your supply will do
post a link to the calculator, as well as all your components and the make and model of your PSU

If i talked like that (big grammer) my parents would look at me funny, and ask me if something was wrong, LOL, ice your are my hero :p

edit..not trying to hijack thread or anything but ice i have a question about the ocz 520. should i post it here, make a new thread, or pm you.
