This is startin to tick me off.. Anyone ever had Modders Block? LOL. I'm having a helluva time trying to find a case I want to use. I had planned on the SViking from ThermalTake but I just found out that the p0s Fan Controller Module only works with the fans that come with the case so if they go out and I cant find the same ones down the road. I'm stuck with a dead intergrated Controller Module. So then I moved over to Antec LanBoy Super, ugh Silver ugly. Next. So then I looked up AeroCool's Jet Engine Turbine looking one with the 14CM Fan in the front. Pretty spiffy if you ask me. 2 120mm Fans on the side door, one in the rear, decent room. Downside, Plastic Doors (Break too easy), and everything is screwed. No Tool-less design. So now I'm up a creek without a paddle. My case is bout done for, the front is held on by SuperGlue and its just a rather p0s case. It got so bad I had to take the side door off and stick two desk fans to blow right on my Vid Card/CPU because the case would attract so much freakin heat.

So any suggestions on a decent case?

replace fans, replace controller...problem solved.

Did you look through the case mod Gallery and work logs? Might get some ideas there.

Not really possible with that case. though, the fans and the controller last a long time. I built a computer for a friends' birthday, and I used the SViking case. It's a solid piece of work.

Well I think ive made my decision. Looking at hitting it with the AeroCool AeroEngine 2. It's got an amazing 14CM Fan in the front for Intake and a 12CM in the rear plus 2 12CM on the side panel. Lots of additional cooling support and a decent look. It's not toolless which to this point I dont care. I can make it look nice. I'm thinking of hacking the HDD Bay out and mounting just my single hard drive on the bottom of the case so there is no restriction with the intake (HDD sits right infront of it). I got some other ideas for it as well. It's probably going to be my choice. This computer will be an upgrade from what I have. I'll build it piece by piece until I get all the internals in it. Will start selling off my current computer to finance it.

What are the methods to mounting a hDD on the bottom? I know I can't drill and screw for the fact the screws will stick out the bottom of the case and scratch everything the case ever sits on.

That's what feet on the bottom of the case are for - raise it up 1/4" or so.

you cant paint aluminum, you have to annodize/powder coat it, either one is expensive

It's not that expensive; I bet you can the case done for les than what you spent on the GeForce 6800GT in your sig.

didn't see you mention Coolermaster and Lian li there, also can take a look at silverstone cases.

$300 compared to $20 to paint a steel case to mirror finish....i consider that expensive

Yeah, it's all relative. There are cheap graphics cards, too.

You can paint aluminum provided that you remove all traces of previous annodizing and use a good etcher. I've done it without any problems.
