They are either being watched by their manager closely or they are new and card everyone to be on the safe side, or they just carded you because they have to card a certain number of people each day...I know places that do that.

Regardless, *I* am the one laughing at your sorry butt for thinking ANYONE can possibly mistake your old wrinkly self for a 16 year old. LOL! That isn't the case...as much as you may think it is.

Now then, to the 20 something that didn't get carded, NO DUH...its HARD to guess someone's age, contrary to popular belief.

Look at it from the cashier's perspective. You don't want to card old farts and offend them like the jerk-offs they are, and you don't want to NOT card people under 27. Carding people is a skill that takes time, and most new cashiers just card everyone without gray hair to be on the safe side. Its a hard job to guess someone's age and card them w/o offending them. Rather then being offended, just pull it out, chuckle and think that you are young, and get it over with.

This is really crazy how many stupid people who call themselves adults and live in this world. How many people here can write a check without misspelling a word? Yeah...LoL stop lying you know everyone has misspelled at least once. Some stupid idiots who are so damn illiterate I dunno how they can even survive but they can't read at all and they have credit cards and checking accounts! wtf?

For once, you vain ignorant people, look at it from the other person's perspective. Next time you just toss the stuff you don't want into the cashiers face, think how THEY feel for having to pick up after you lazy slobs. Its their job to provide customer service, NOT to be your damn maids. Seriously I would LOVE to go to people's jobs and make a BIG mess and watch them clean it up, since you seem to do so to poor teens working minimum wage jobs...constantly...how many times can you spill coffee in a day, hmm? Oh well I don't have to clean it up so it doesn't matter, right? NO...simple.

So before ANY of you go and criticize anyone else for being dumb/ignorant, just think of all the BS dumb crap you've done to others and reflect on that. Hell, go clean up ur own damn messes once in a while, lazy ass slobs.

From my personal observations over the years, I've seen today's teens rise up and become not only smarter, but more mature in most ways compared to people twice their age. Hell, do any of you know about FBLA? Future Business Leaders of America. Those teens are so cool, smart, AND mature they make 90% of you adults look like dumbass monkeys!

Contrary to the media assult and bias against teens, we aren't ALL wild crazy people driving drunk and partying at night and doing drugs. That teen population is about 30% or less, and that is from PERSONAL observation in my life and not some damn "study". Mostly teens smoke, but they hardly do as much crazy stuff as you think. Many watch others...I mean how else are they gonna have fun?

Think about it, what is there to do for fun on a low budget? I don't see the stupid government taking all that wasted money with those worthless "anti-smoking" truth ads and instead taking that 50 billion or so and using it to build some FREE community athletic centers where we can go and play sports in a safe indoor environment away from bad weather and the gangsters. Have ANY of you been playing basketball and suddenly been shot at by a speeding drive-by full of gangsters? HELL NO. Don't talk about life if you don't know crap.

This thread has gone on far enough. Let the criticism of poor minimum-wage teens end now!

i am only 16 yet i get away with buying porn/beer at stores. back when i was in middle school people asked me what college i go to. but when i go and try to buy an M rated video game they dont let me.

does anyone see something wrong with that?
 
I know this is an unpopular opinion here, but...

Good for them!

Stores carding everyone for videogames will hopefully get the government off our nuts. Politicians have this miguided idea that gamers are all 11 years old, and that Vice City and Doom 3 are written for kids. The reality is that the average age of gamers is over 21.

Carding everyone means that when Lieberman and Ashcroft go on another witch-hunt to pump up their reputation, the video-games industry can point to the "card-everyone" policies and tell Washington DC to fuck off.

And most importantly to the actual artistry and dramatic relevance of videogames: if everyone gets carded when buying "M" and "AO" videogames, those games can actually be more mature or adult, and push the medium forward.

Lets see, I'm 19 years old, and I will admit that I look and sound young... oh well, youth is with me. I've been carded for a movie before, the first time I was ever carded was buying GTA1 for PS at Electronics Boutique... had to get someone else to buy me the game. I was also carded when going to see Matrix Revolutions [18 by that point], which was retarded because I got all the way into the theater, had my hands full of snacks, and the guy wanted to card me. I looked at him and said, do you really want to card me? Do I really look like I'm 12? He just shook his head and let me move on... and I got carded for buying cigs [obviously] for my brother in law. Yet never got carded for buying UT2K4, BF:V, nor my Radeon 9800pro with my debit card... meh, oh well. :p
