OMG a HL2 thread!11 (Radeon 8500?)

Has anybody tried playing HL2 on a Radeon 8500le or a similar old card?
 
I have an 8500LE in my closet...but...I don't really have the ambition to do surgery on my computer today, sorry...

Anyone else?
 
My HL2 just finished unlocking I'm about to give it a try. I have the 8500LE 128MB version. Other specs are xp-m @ 2.5GHz / 512 PC3200 RAM
 
If it runs on the radeon 7000 guys comp (another thread here) should work on yours. Maybe 800 by 600 with some graphics tweaks, or 1024 with more graphics lowering. Does 256mb of ram even fit the minimum though? Dunno.
 
It works fine. I had it at 800*600 high details 2x antialiasing and it didn't go slow. It did stutter a lot though and the sound would skip around. I'm probably gonna go get a better card and maybe some more ram later today.
 
i have my 8500 LE and surprisingly it works fine, settings on high 12x10 in a window... granted i have a p4 3.00 1gb ram

i bought it on ebay to replace the crappy onboard video jus to hold me over till d3 and hl2 dropped and so far im not runnin out to buy a 400 vid card anytime soon, i got to great games that play fine...
