The Omega 6.3's were finally released today. Head on over to www.omegadrivers.net to grab em! Seems to include a new version of ATI Tray Tools too!

What's New in Omega Drivers?
v3.8.231

[*] Based on the Catalyst 6.3 Official drivers.

[+] Added a new wide-screen resolution, 1024x640.

Known Issues:
1) Some of the settings for both D3D & OGL will not be synchronized between ATT and the normal ATI CP, you must only use one of them to make changes, the best option is to use ATT since the ATI CP does not support changes to AI and in order to use the advanced D3D/OGL features. Changes made in ATT will work on games and such but the changes will not be reflected in the normal ATI CP since ATI stores the registry values that the CP reads separate from the actual values in the registry.

Important Info:
Since these drivers include a non-standard version of ATT, I would recommend that if you have any previous version of ATT installed, please uninstall it before installing these drivers, not doing so may cause unknown problems.

What's new for ATI Tray Tools?
1.0.5.824
[+] Updated core names database. Added information about R505 chips.

[*] Improved "High precision" overclocking mode for X8xx boards. Now ATT can set more accurate values for requested GPU and Memory clocks.

[*] Resrticted I2C scan procedure up to 0x4F address.

[+] Added new configuration option (in atitray.ini) to exchange GPU and Environment temperatures

[F] Fixed wrong temperature display in Overclocking window if SharedMemory was disabled

[F] Fixed issue when ATT unable to restore current colors after game end

[F] Fixed isuue when ATT shows incorrect values for free Video and Texture memory in FlashOSD module

Downloading now. I don't feel like going through the clean process though, so I probably won't install them until tomorrow.

I've never tried modified drivers, does anyone really notice a difference with these? Is there benchmarks between the these and normal ones or are they not meant for performance boosts, maybe something else?

Omega says on his website that the drivers aren't meant for performance enhancements, but rather an IQ increase with little or no loss of performance. It was quite noticeable back in the 9800 days, and to a lesser degree, during the X800, but at the moment, It's slightly difficult to distinguish on my 1900. I still use them for A) The custom resolutions, B) No CCC installation required, C) Pre-packaged TrayTools, and D) The extra filtering and quality options.

Perhaps since then it has become the other way around, and ATi is basing the Catalyst Drivers off the omega ones :p

Downloading the update now, though i won't see an improvement with my little 9600XT
