Hey, Im just trying out my new Olympus IS-50, and I'm having some problems. First off, I just loaded some Kodak Tri-X 400 B+W Film (for my photography class, im a newb). So, Im messing around with the settings, and trying to set the aperature, or set ANYTHING is not happening. Theres a Flashing "E" constant, and nothing else shows up on the LCD screen. When I look through the viewfinder, its all blurry, nothing is in focus at all, and I can't spot it, or check my settings, or even take a blurry photo.

I'm not sure whats up with this camera, but any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Is the film loaded correctly? If not, it may be halting the camera from doing automatic functions. To focus manually, you might have to flick a switch on the camera.

A flashing "E" probably means "Error". My first guess would be to make sure the film is loaded correctly, or that the lens is firmly attached to the body. If correcting either of those things doesn't work, you might have to plunge into the instruction book to figure out what is wrong, or what you need to do first.

As a second guess, have you installed the battery into this camera?

The batteries are in there. When I loaded the film, I heard it take the film, so I think its loaded properly. Any other ideas?
