has anyone had any experience with this camera? I had the c-5060 but it recently was lost to the ocean depths :mad: so i am looking to upgrade to an 8mp model. If this is not a good camera, can someone recommend one in the same $$ range?

The C-8080 has been gaining more popularity now that it's clear olympus will not ever release another prosumer camera like it.

To answer your question, it's a fantastic camera, best in its group, superb IQ and a very fine lens, however, its focusing system is showing its age and is rather slow compared to today's standard. Also, it is no longer made, so you'll have to get it used for $400-500, which imho, is too much for a 2.5 yr old camera when you can get a DSLR for the same price. :(

It really was the perfect camera back in the day, sad to see it go.
