My LG 55C7 developed the split screen haze issue where split down the middle the right half had a screen door filter look. No visible burn in at all using a full screen notepad. Repair comes out and replaces both boards in back of TV and a ton of burn in suddenly shows up and instead of entire right side of screen having the screen door filter there are bars of it on the right side alternating. Guessing the previous boards were hiding the burn in. Did a pixel clean up and it got rid of some of it but still quite a bit can basically see where my browser window is at the top of the screen burned in. Kind of weird is was completely hidden before they replaced the boards. They can't find a replacement panel so they refund the TV with credit and even let me keep the old unit. Its still fairly nice and useful as the burn in and filters don't effect viewing tv, movies, or games much but I use this as my every day work display also and its terrible looking for that. Can't complain about getting the refund though, first time a warranty actually worked out for me.
With the credit I got a 55C9 as it was the best option I could get without loosing a bunch on a lower end tv or spending a ton more on a higher end. I can't really go any bigger than 55" either otherwise I would have sprung for a QR90 65". Why Samsung decided to not to offer the 55" in the US is beyond me. I won't go down to the lower end inputs of the QR80. So the question is do I bust open the C9 which has "hdmi 2.1" ports and VRR that could work down the line though I've run into issues with non-certified ports like this before where they didn't really do everything they should because they came out before the standard was ready and risk burn in or panel issues in a year or two. Thought about getting a H9F for a temporary use until next year when hopefully there is a QLED in 55" with 120hz\4k\hdmi 2.1\HDR\Dolby Vision\etc. Beyond trying to import a QR90 55" I can't think of any options.
What my C7 now looks like.
