Old Thinkpad Laptop LCD - useable?

I recently tore apart an old 750 (or something like that) Thinkpad apart and have a perfectly good working lcd screen left over from it.

My question is this -

The part that was connecting the screen to the actual mobo of the laptop was a rectangle plug with 14 different pins in it. Does anyone know how, or if even able, to convert this to a standard VGA cable?

It would be awesome to be able to use this sucker in a carputer I'm working on..

In short, no, not for less than you could go out and buy an LCD.
 
Show me the FAQ. Either I'm just blind because its 5am or it's not there right now.

I know in the past a year or two ago there was a damn good FAQ, but I don't see it now.

I don't see how it would cost me 300$+ to make a converter or something to convert this simple connector to a vga or something like that.

And after doing a bit of research, I ran across something called XGA.. what is this?

Or better yet, just show me to this FAQ...
