Samsung 2gb 2rx8 pc3-10600u-09-10-bo 6gig can put max of 12 gig

had 2 gtx 260 set in sli the last one died last month
im running 1080p at 60 hrz
windows 7 pro
im not into overclocking the only on line game I play is w@w and looking at bf 5, other games are farcry 3, skyrim, and fallout3,most of my other games are about the same speed.
yes this system is old but so am I at 62 and in bad health. I will be bumping the ram to tri channel 12 gig. what I need is a gpu- have been looking at a gtx1660ti and a new 1070 for about 50 bucks more than the 1660ti, so my question is can my system run either one of these cards with this mobo and processor?
I did do a search here under i7 960 got some info but dated to 2008. after I get this unit up im going to start looking at new system- non dell by end of year
