Got my eBay Proliant DL380 G3 up and running Win2k3 as my secondary fileserver to haul around/pull LAN duty.

It's got the regular HP Smart Array 5i controller in it, and I've got 5x18.2 10K Seagate/Dell mix in there, running RAID 5. The connectors were SCA-2, so I assume its Ultra-SCSI2?

What kind of read-speeds should I expect from this generation hardware? Right now, HDTune reports ~70MB/s reads, which seems terrible, seeing as Vista reports my single SATA drives doing that speed or more (though obviously, all the hw in the DL380 is two-generations old/scrounged).

Any tips on increasing performance? It's mainly large files/patches, so I set the stripe-size to the max possible, (128KB, or 64KB IIRC). Or am I maxed out on the old hw?
