Hey do we have any Xcom fans in house..

Damn I love that game I actually still play it..
I have xcom and I also purchased a remake they made called UFO Extraterrestrials..
same game just upgraded graphics..

Lets see Police Quest..with the command lines..
Space Quest Roger Wilco...funniest game ever...

Raptor.. I dont think i ever played the full version, but I do remember it was fun

and if any one can help me remember the name of this game..
its 8-bit came out around the same time as police quest command line..
Well the game was basically space travel and you would have coordinates x-y
and i remember you had to travel to other planets or space bases and the
travel time was like hrs.. 5 hrs of this ship just moving through space
fun times..

ohh and my all time fav Out of this world.. awsome game.. damn this game was tuff

Share some other old school games.. they dont make games the way they use to.

Most of my games are 'old school', because in the last 5 or so years I can only count up to 6 games which I really liked.

Some of the older games which I recently played:

Fallout 1
Fallout 2
System Shock 2
Thief 1
Thief 2
AvP 1
AvP 2
Archanox
Deus Ex
Super Mario All Stars
Arena
Daggerfall

I've a fair share of "old school" as well, been gaming too long. ;)

X-Wing Collection
Dark Forces 1 & 2
System Shock 2
Deus Ex
AvP 1 & 2
Ghost Recon (w/ both expansions)
Black Hawk Down (w/ expansion)
Rainbox Six 1 - 3
Half-Life (w/ both expansions)

If we define "old school" as being Win98 or older, then I'll stop there. Otherwise the list will grow exponentially. :D

Let's see:

Nibbles - of course
Radio City Baseball - an all text baseball mgmt game - really cool (I remember putting it on the old 20MB HDD and watching it fly as opposed to running it from 5.25 floppy)
King's Quest - fun though I never beat it
Star Quest (Space Quest, something like that; Master of Ur'Quan is the remake)
Adventure Construction Set - this was a really cool make your own adventure that had some fun pre-made content
The old D&D RPG's on computer - all of the names are escaping me at the moment
The Bard's Tale - played the crap out of this one (you've encountered 396 Barbarians!)
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - first intro to all text-based adventuring
The original MS Flight Simulator - I think I successfully landed twice
The original Test Drive - blasting up the mountain at 200+ MPH was slick (Good job kid. Keep the car, go home)
The Test Drive with the Ferrari F40 and the Porsche... something - good game when played with a joystick, not so much with the keyboard
The original Castles - a friend had this and we played a lot of it
Oregon Trail - naturally

I'm sure there's more but these come to mind. Almost all of these were played on the old 8088 (with CGA graphics!!). A friend had a really old computer that we played a pac-man clone on but I don't remember the system.

YESSS the oregon trail...holyshit I forgot all about that game

Where in the world is carmen sandiego..

Kings quest awsomeness...

Thief was so much fun that the 1st epionage tactical game EVER!!! yeah where did you think MGS (Metal gear solid) got their idea.. not the old ones but the new ones for ps1 and up..

OLD SCHOOL.. win 3.2 and maybe some win 95...

No one remembers that space travel game???
damn I want it..

ohh and Xcom Terror from the deep.. the greatest game ever...

Let's see:
Star Quest (Space Quest, something like that; Master of Ur'Quan is the remake)

It's called Star Control and Star Control II, Star Control II came out in 92 and was epic.
I think I still have the box and manual and map that came with it somewhere. One of the best games ever made.
Space Quest series was great.
Monkey Island series, the first two games especially.
Cyber Storm.
MechWarrior and MechWarrior 2
Day of the Tentacle
Archon Ultra for some friendly pvp

and yes, Out of this World and Fade to Black and Flashback all made by Delphine Software International, one of the best companies of its day. (future wars was so so)

and last but not least, Gorillaz! (hidden in MS-DOS)

The D&D games you are trying to remember are the Gold Box games. Pool of Radiance, Secrets of the Silver Blades and I can't remember the third one. I think there was a 4th that was a kinda 1.5 as it was between the two games. Hilsfar or something like that I think was the name.

I spend to many hours playing those games........ :)

Curse of the Azure Bonds and Pools of Darkness.

The series goes: Radiance, Curse, Secrets and Pools.

There you go. I never had time to get really into that game but, even at the time, I was amazed at how big the universe was. All those planets, each fully explorable. The entire galaxy, hidden wormholes (loved the map, I kept writing on it). Couldn't ever really get the hang of the battles. I might have to try the remake.

And Scorched Earth! Can't believe I forgot this one. That game was just too cool with a bunch of players all sitting around a 15" monitor yelling at each other.

Wow! Forgot about the US one as well. Played a lot of that and got fairly good but I didn't beat it. Did you actually get Carmen in the end?

Ah, yes. Pools of Radiance. Those were good times. Positioning everyone for a perfect fireball cast, editing the characters for max stats, good game. I think that was the one a friend and I played for something like 16+ straight hours. Haven't done that since - though a Tribes session came close once.

I've been playing Cooridor 7 for the last few days.

Arkamw & eloj: I LOVED those old D&D games where you battled it out graph paper style.
Editing your characters so their two frames of animation looked good and colorful. I haven't liked any D&D games since.
