well im my cisco class @ school im on a p 200 and i set the dip switches to make it run @ 233 :D

thats all we need to configure a router and play some doom :D
 
Cisco ain't hard :D

I don't know the specifics of setting each dip on this board though.

Try searching Google groups. You'll probably find a lot of old threads about this subject.
 
Hrmm thats interesting.. my p1 200mmx did not have dip switches and overclockign could be done via the bios.
Why did everyone have that blue heatsink and I had a copper heatsink/fan?
 
if there arent any dip switches then there must be jumpers, lots of them.

my old packard bell motherboard had a line of 10 jumpers that i had to fool around with to get my pentium 200 mhz MMX cpu up to 233 mhz.

those were the days
 
I had my old Pentium 200MMX running at 266 on a Asus TX97-XE with a stock heatsink/fan.

I have a lineup of 10 dip switches but I have NO idea how/what order they go in and what for.

If you know that much info why not just go to the mobo's website and look at a manual.
 
It should have a little chart on how to set the switches on the board itself. Usually, it has 2 banks of dip switches or jumpers, one for the front side bus and the other for the multiplier.

I remember in HS, we found a motherboard that had mults from 1 to 10 and fsb up to 100 mhz. It also went from 1 volt to like 3.4v or something screwy like that. Basically, we had a 1 ghz PI that we used to melt things in the class. It got so hot, the socket ended up melting...
 
I was playing with an old 166, and set it at 5v(the 60&66 MHz setting), and put a volcano3 on it. That thing OCed to 292(83*3.5), and is still running now 15 months later!!

That's strange. Ditch the board and pick up a good one... Even better, get a P2B and a PII 233. ;) You can have some fun with that. :p I have dual 350's running at 391 myself.
 
I sent a 90MHz P1 to 202MHz just by removing one jumper.

Of course, those were the days of quarter-sized HSFs, and where AMD, Intel, and Cyrix CPUs all fit on the same boards...

Yep. Cyrix was somewhat strange, too... Their chips ran faster, but were slower...

K6 2's kicked ass. You can really give those chips a kick in the pants if you know what you're doing. ;)

I'm glad AMD moved to socket A. And I'm also glad they stuck with Socket A until now. :D Socket 7-> Slot A -> Socket A

i had a cyrix dx2-80 that seemed pretty quick to me..

atleast in descent..:cool:
