Ok i am stumpd I have an old hp pavilion pc running xp pro but now for some reason I am getting a Stop:c000021a{fatal system error}f0xc0000022(0x0000000,0x00000000) before the computer got this error it was littered with malware and I was attempting to get rid of them but was unsuccessful because no matter what I tried to do I couldn't access the disc in the cd drive. I think its a malware issue the reason I think this is because windows shows the drive is fine but the same 'music' file is in the folder even with no disc in the drive !! wtf

so now with this error the system keeps rebooting to the xp sceen then resets I can go into safe mode and log into windows but thats it I uninsall all the spyware run spybot and to no avail i have same reboot problem ! what am i doing wrong ? now i have the boot sector to boot cd first but even then nothing it wont boot the xp disc how do i get the cd drive workin again? i know the system is old but it cant be the drive it is bairly used at all to burn cds or play them thanks to p2p and thats all it does !!!

anyone know of a malware that can cause the drive to maluntion reason i ask is because i can still access the cd drive even with no disc in the tray (when the system was booting into windows slowly before the error )

You would probably be better off getting an XP CD, and doing the repair option built into the windows xp setup.

If you insist on trying to fix this isssue, you can also check the .dmp file that it leaves after the system has issues (It could be a piece of malware trying to load into your system as an arbitrary driver of some sort).
