So... I have an older torrent/media server box I keep which also servers as a second station for when friends come over to lan a bit...

Athlon XP 2500+
got it bumped up to 2.2ghz (3200+) by just putting fsb up to 200... works like a charm but to get it stable i had to bump voltage to 1.8 (from 1.65)... right now it's using the stock XP heatsink and a larger athlon 64 fan screwed on... temps before were about 37 idle 44 load... now it's about 41idle 50 load... should i worry about having the vcore so high? memory is running 66% @ 2.5T (crappy kingmax memory) and so far no issues... Should I keep it as is or go pickup a cheap TT Volcano 12? They're only about $40 at a local shop near my house.

Has anyone else done this with their 166fsb xp's and if so how stable was it or what problems did you encounter?

no one cares about old machines anymore:(

o well i'm just gonna leave it as is and hope it doesnt die

run prime95 for a few hours. if it's stable and doesn't get too hot, then you're golden.
ideally, you want to lower the voltage as much as possible while hitting max stability at the speed you want.
id take cooler temps and stability over a few more mhz and more voltage any day.
