Old LCD screen - other use?

Hi there
New to this forum so please point me out if I do something wrong!
My girlfriend found this old useless mac under her bed which she is probably going to throw out. I was just wondering, can there be any use for the properly disconected LCD screen? What would it take to allow it to recieve a signal and play it from say a dvd player or vcr player?
Any help much appriciated!
