I was inside my trusty old fujitsu lifebook a6025 the other day and noticed that the CPU is removable. It is a sockett M T2450 core duo. I just recently got a fresh battery for this thing. It has an SSD and max RAM in it already. Thing has been a trooper. So just for grins I run a little search to see if I can put a better CPU in it. Low and behold, one of the first hits is a thread right here at [H] http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1308942 that seems to suggest a Core 2 Duo Mobile T7600 for a different laptop originally running the same CPU as mine.

Would anyone like to opine whether this upgrade would work for me? Please set aside, for now, if it is worth it or not, just would it work?

edit to add Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset

Pretty much any laptop that supports Core Duo CPU's will support Core 2 Duo CPU's (socket M).

I've done it on a Lenovo ThinkPad R60.

Is that a fact? I have a laptop running a 1.6GHz Core Duo that could use a boost...
