Ya know that problem the old Klipsch 5.1’s had, you know were it over heats and cuts out er something like that… yea well I have that problem, anyone know how to fix it??? If I can just replace a cap er something? Help :(

i never knew there was a problem with the 5.1s

i'd had my set for over 2 years now, leaving them on alomst all the time and i still have yet to have a problem.

check out the klipsch fourms, they are pretty good there.

I have been there (the Klipsch forums that is) with no avail to the problem, this is a well known issue that I know I’m not the first to have … codeflux even traded his in for the logetech 4.1 because of this problem with the Klipsch speakers and I have seen other people on [H] with the same problem. It was even brought up when the new Klipsch 5.1’s came out, people were saying how the new 5.1’s didn’t have the same hereditary problems the olds did (the ones I have). I was thanking that if it was hereditary then there has to be a known problem that I can fix and there ant no dust on my soldering-iron.

actually i just found out i have a problem with the headphone preamp but thats besides the point.

have you emailed klipsch bout this? i know it might suck while you wait, but they take care of their customers (as far as i have heard) but i have started reading about all the amp problems they have been plauged with apperetnly :(

if you do want to try and fix it yourself you obviouly void the warantee, so why not try and get a set of ultras for free?

Thats a damn good point man, I thank I will compose an e-mail to klipsch and see what comes of it... thanks, I'll post the e-mail when I get it back...

Hello and thanks for your
patience with our reply. The Promedia 5.1 carries
a 3 year warranty with proof of purchase. We have
experienced some difficulty with the amplifiers on
that model and we are currently doing repairs. If
you would like to arrange a repair, please call us
at 1-866-253-9563 and use the tech code DCxxxx.
Thanks.

proof of purchase... that could be difficult...

yes, i had two sets - TWO SETS - of these speakers. exchanged the first after the amp blew, then returned the second and got Logitech 4.1 and love them.

It may be a little hard, But I made a few phone calls and I thank I can get a POP from the store they came from.

Contact Klipsch, I'm having the same problem and they are going to replace them :)
