Old copper heatsinks worth anything?

It occurs to me I have about 20 LBs in old performance copper heatsinks laying around (old socket-A coolers like SLK-800s and 947s) and that while they're useless for cooling CPUs, they might be worth quite a bit as scrap copper.

Has anyone here tried selling their old copper heatsinks to a scrap dealer? Was it worth the hassle? About how much did you get per pound?

you would need to remove any aluminum from the copper slugs.

otherwise, it's dirty metal and you get 1/4 the price at a scrap yard.

if thers 100% copper you should get like $2.50 a pound for them
