I've got a bunch of old 72 pin SIMMs that I'm trying to test. (anybody remember those?
) I've got two sets of 64mb memory. (pair of 32mb chips) When used alone in the computer I'm testing with, each set works great. They pass a test with Memtest. However, when I use them together, (128mb total) they refuse to boot windows, restart randomly, and just about every POST the computer sees a different amount of RAM.
What the hell?
Why do they work fine seperately, but not together? I know the motherboard is capable of seeing that much ram, because a different 128mb set works fine. Could this be a problem with the motherboard? Or is it with the RAM? (I don't have another old computer I can test them in)
What the hell?
