I was thinking of running the gpu client on my wife's comp. She has an x1950xt card in it now and I was wondering if I could just pickup a compatible card and stick it in the 2nd pcie slot? She would have the old card for everyday usage and the new to fold with. Would the client just see the new card and run or would it hangup on the old card? She is running WinXP and doesn't do any gaming. I was thinking I could grab a $25 card and get a little folding done with little effort.
 
The answer to your questions should be yes, I see no obstacle in folding with a supported card. My question is, which card for $25 can adequately fold??

 
APOLLO enquired which card because a lowest end ATI card for folding, the HD2400 is only going to be doing around 250 PpD .
And the HD2600 is going to do just under 1,000 PpD.

Swop the X1950 out and drop in a 8800GT for around $90 and your looking at around 3,000-4,500 PpD depending on overclock.
