I just found my old Voodoo 5 5500 card and man is that thing huge. I had heard from my friend that these things are actually worth more than $20. Is it really true that people will pay $100+ for these because they were the first SLI card?

Quick question for you...

WTH does that have to do with nVidia??? (Look at where you posted!)

The first SLI cards are the 3dfx Voodoo 2.

And don't EVER FORGET :)

I don't forget, because i still have 2 of them in one of my computers, still happily churning out unreal tournament games.

Nvidia bought 3DFX

So it is related

I suppose you can use that argument if there were only two forums (nVidia and ATI) for video cards. But there are in fact 3, this thread would be better fit in the General section.

I guess it would be better in the general video card section. Could one of the mods please move to the more appropriate section. I don't remember how much it cost, but it was the only thing I got for X-mas that year. I used it up until last year when a friend gave me a BFG 5600 256MB. This thing was sweet it could even play BF: Vietnam on low settings with my old 600mhz PIII. I guess they aren't worth 100+ more like 30-40 bucks, eh oh well.

I'm not sure exactly how much they're worth, but I think you can get more if you can sell it to someone who is a collector. I know the few Voodoo6's that were made would go for several hundred to just under a thousand. The Voodoo5's were in relatively larger supply, but you have a 5500 so that's a little nicer. I'd try to find a forum with a lot of collectors and see what they're trying to buy/sell these guys for. I bet you might be able to get $30-60 if you try and sell it at the right place.
