OK plain and simple which one should I go for?
an AXP 3000+ 400mhz variant or a 2500+ mobile...im thinking the mobile..but I REALLY need to see how far they are OCing and what FSB's they are hitting...I wanna hit a minimum of 460mhz if at all possible :)

i'd go with the 2500+ mobile... more tolerant silicon, free overvoltage. in fact i am going to go with the 2500+ mobile, unless my brother gets a prescott and gives me his 2.4, in which case i'm going with a new mobo:)

i like the 1.25 stock vcore, it'll let me get a full .6 volts over stock on my asus (then i can vmod it for some fun:))

o and good luck if you mean 460mhz *real* fsb, the canterwood record is 'only' 400mhz (hipro5 hit the clockgen limit, now the limit is 500mhz)

230 shouldn't be a problem as long as you have the memory/voltage to back up the chip. either one should get you there.

though i believe that the 2500+ mobiles are also all unlocked still.

Im leaning towards the 2500M but the whole 400mhz fsb "maybe" is what bothers me LOL
and no i meant 230mhz (DDR 460) My ram will do 500mhz no problem (i love my XMS 4000pro) but i never aim for the max since with my luck itll never happon :p

i figured that was what you meant;)

what mobo do you have (i know you have the dtek waterblock already, cooling won't be a problem)

i personally don't think i've seen a 2500 that wouldn't do 200fsb+, 200x11 seems completely normal with stock cooling/voltage. dunno how this translates to the mobile silicon, but it seems to speak favorably about it.

my vote for the 3000+/400

Buy from at lesser known store. Better chance of getting one that's unlocked. Even though newegg, still sends out a few unlocked ones.

EVEN IF you get a locked one...being multiplier locked at 10.5 is NOT bad at all, just make sure mobo & ram is able to handle 220+ speeds

running a NF7-S rev2 so it shouldnt be a problem :p
also howd you know I had a D-tek block?

NF7-S rev 2 shouldnt have a problem doing 220fsb or higher. Ive been able to get this thing to post and get into windows at like 450 but the CPU simply wont do it and when its loaded down it causes a memory dump and my ram is underclocked...i know its the CPU.
