Ok this is really werid cd drive problem

So I reformatted my computer, and both my cd drives are there they are reconized everything is good. But once I install the driver CD that came with my Motherboard one of my cd drives just dispears. Like it doesn't appear anywhere on my system evern have i search for new hardware, and it only comes back if I reformat my computer. Short of having to redo this loop over and over again can anyone think of a solution as to why this is happening.

I have a gigabyte K7 Triton Motherboard and the cd it came with is a Nvidia nForce Series Utilities CD Ver. 1.2.

Im at a complete loss as to why or how this is even possible.

Try updating the drivers to your motherboard (Your motherboard at the time of production might not have been around the same time as the cd drive, so it's effectively looking at your cd-drive and saying.. "wtf is this?")

The other option is googling the model# of the cd-drive and try updating the firmware.
 
cd-rom drives are plug in play, unless its a burner you dont need to install an additional driver

:rolleyes: I never suggested to install drivers for the cd-rom drive
