do I turn on the preview pane in OSX Mail? I have only had my new iBook for a couple of weeks and accidentally closed the preview pane in Mail. Don't know how the hell I turned it off, but I cannot figure out how to turn it back on (normally basic things like this are not a problem, but I'm new to OSX and anything obvious is not showing itself).

Feeling like a 'tard,

You may have dragged the divider between the message list and the preview pane all the way to the bottom of the window; try going to the bottom edge and dragging back up, assuming you see something that looks like it can be dragged up.

You're welcome. It's one of those things that baffles you until you realize that Apple may have actually made it simpler than expected. :p

I orignially thought I might have hit a keyboard combination that closed the preview pane. I didn't even think about that since I didn't remember dragging down the preview pane divider bar.

Yeah, I'm new to OSX too and one of the only problems I have with it is how it handles mouse clicks when under stress (aka, if you click on the divider bar, then let go when the machine is crunching away, the bar will sometimes "sticky" to your mouse: thus, if your mouse is below the window, it will bring the bar down with it!)

if you go to sys prefs/keyboard & mouse/Trackpad there is an option to drag lock and you probably have that on

I'm using a tower, not a powerbook :) (sorry for lack of clarification!)
