Anyone here play around with the 30-bit colour that the 4800 series offers? The idea interests me and I'm certainly considering a 4800 as a replacement to my 8800GTX. However I can find absolutely zero info in this feature other than that ATI lists it on their page. So anyone actually try this, in particular anyone with an 8-bit monitor? Does it just give more tones for colour correction (in which case it isn't that useful since my monitor has a 12-bit lookup table that does the same thing) or can you actually get a smoother gradient for games/apps that use floating point render targets?
