A few points to make: I must stick w/a 478, onboard audio is just fine, and no raptors. I have my reasons, and they have nothing to do with the quality/price of other options. I'm up for video card suggestions, but I really want to stick w/a TV tuner, and I love the AIW family. Also, I own all of the software I need.

No, no and thrice no for the video card, I say! The nVidia 6600GT is priced at $200 and is substantially faster than the 9800Pro. In Doom 3 it is a world faster.

Alternatively, a 6800 (also known as a 6800 non-Ultra) is about $250 or maybe a touch more and is faster again. nVidia has this mid-range section of the market sewn up in AGP at the moment, I'm afraid.

He probably got the card because he wants to use the AIW features. Otherwise, looks good.

You are correct sir (see original post!). I was thinking of pairing a 6600 w/a tuner card, but I'm pretty close to my price ceiling.

The other option would be to get something like the Asus P4GD1, but I'll be danged if I can find one. This would let me get like an AIW X600 at around $205.
