I just boxed my GTX 260 up to send in for step up. Being that is about 90% of my points per day, it would seem I will be getting a bump out of the top 300 pretty soon here. Once it gets back I will have the Core 216 GTX 260 though. I know it isn't a very big difference, but it should be nice. And its my first chance to step up, so I figured I couldn't pass it up right?

Everyone wave as they mow me!

At that kind of level, mowing doesn't really happen all that fast. I wouldn't worry too much.

I already mowed you before you took out the 260, how do those tire marks feel? :-P

I woulda reported that my 260 step up took 2 weeks, however, I left the bathroom and stepped out on the porch. With tears in my eyes (not from the bathroom), I say the UPS sticker on the door saying sorry we missed you. Moral of the story is make sure your doorbell battery is up, lol.

lol and actually i think the 216 core 260 gtx will make a difference point wise if you decide to overclock the card.. since the 2 primarily used parts of the gfx card is gpu and shader.. the up in shaders should make a little bit of a different.. maybe 100 or 200 points.. doesnt sound like a lot but think of it running for a year.. then you get an idea of the difference..

This is sad to hear, but not surprising. I am getting my GTX260 core 216 step up today from UPS. They better knock on the door loudly!

Mine isn't fully processed yet. They are gay with CC issues and it's now close to 3 weeks without fixing it. I called last friday and they just plainly told me that it take time to do a manual processing.

Well great. At the very least I can take solace that I am having it shipped to my work, so there is no chance of it missing me because our front desk girl is really good with the UPS man;) j/k

I am hoping I can get a card that is a decent overclocker. I would hate to step up to a downgraded card. Here's to hoping everything goes as smoothly as possible. Going to UPS today after work to ship it.

Ahhh....., don't sweat it on the pernts thing brother Wheresatom. From what I understand the F@H pernts rank is something like "frigging", up and down all the time (missionary). One minute you're doin' 20,000 pernts and the next minute you're only doin' 20 pernts. (kind of like PS3 thing) :(

I've got faith in most people, "we're gonna' do what we can do, with what we got" (or something like that. The important fact is you're DCing. :p)

Good luck with your "step up" deal and let us know how it goes :D

Folding and WCGing for the CURE

I am dumb. I sent the GPU UPS ground which, not only cost me a whole $11.70, but took them a week. I should have asked how much more it would have cost to sent it 3 day or something. Oh well. I guess another week or so from now and I should be patiently waiting for the UPS man right? A few days for processing, and then a few days for shipping. Lets hope it all goes well.

Mine is already in EVGA hands, waiting for them to ship the new card back to me :)

Well it is on it's way back to me now. Expected delivery date is November 4th. Just in time for the cold weather too! It has been cold in my bedroom without it. That makes it hard to get out of bed in the morning.

I'm supprised you can type. That long in folding withdrawl....... I would be under the bed shaking.

Rumor has it, he's been seen singing softly to a wallet sized picture of a Core 216 GTX 260.:D

I know really. My attention has been on my SMP since the GPU left, and knock on wood it has been uneventful other than one long 1-4 error.

I am looking forward to playing some video games again too. This stinking 7600 isn't hitting on much.

Just fyi, I am getting about 7100 ppd on my 216 atm. Of course with the new cores and server fiasco, Its hard to judge performance, lol.

You need to get that OC up.

My orig 260 is pushing 7300 ppd. :p

Well. New card came today. I am running driver cleaner right now and when it is done I will install the new card. Here's hoping it all works nicely.

Mine is scheduled to get home tomorrow :D

Wheresatom, please share your impressions and the PPD output to give myself a idea of what to expect as we have the same card ;)

Well, on project 5016 it would seem that I am getting about 6380 PPD as reported by FahMon. I am not sure if I have this card dialed into it's sweet spot yet. I have not been able to do any testing yet. Here are some screen shots.

Lets not pick on my meager farm now;)

edit: I played around with ATItool for a few for the first time tonight. I am not sure That I like what it tells me. FAH seems to have no problems with my current OC, but ATItool wanted me to bump down 108 in the shaders. Any thoughts?
