oh no. first attempt at oc'ing. not workin..

so this is really my first attempt at OC'ing my processor, apparently i screwed up majorly. when i turn on my comp, the display goes out after about 1 second. i cant get back into bios settings.. what do i do?
 
Clear the CMOS/BIOS. There is a jumper to do this on every mootherboard somewhere (check your manual for its location). All you do is take a jumper, connect the two pins, boot the computer, and remove the jumper.
This has the side effect of clearing ALL the settings in your CMOS/Bios chip, so for future referance, copy down all the modified settings in your bios befor overclocking.
 
ok this is still confusing me, what do they mean 'remove the onboard battery'? unplug the psu? and also, where do i get jumper caps from??

It'll be listed in the manual as the "clear CMOS jumpers" or something similar, and will already have the jumper cap on it. It'll likely be 3 pins (therefor two combinations of pins 1+2 or 2+3 one of which is to keep cmos data, the other to clear it).

In regarsd to removing the battery (not your PSU) it's a little silver disc in a plastic circular mount that provides power to keep info in the cmos if the psu is not present or unplugged.

What you can try instead of that is to put the clear cmos jumpers to the "clear" setting (again, it IS in the manual) and then unplug the plug from the pack of the psu. Hit your power button a few times (6 to a dozen) then put back to normal cmos operation settings. Hit the power button again for good measure (each time tries to draw power, therefor clearing capacitors that may still hold enough charge to prevent the cmos from clearing or losing power enough to be forced to clear) and then plug power back in and try again.
 
i found the 3-pin place to put the jumper on.. there is nothing on the pins tho - no jumper already. so can i get jumpers at like radioshack?
